My name is Donald Ray Patton. I was born in Phoenix, Arizona on December 10, 1951. At the age of 2 1/2, I was afflicted with polio. After a year in the Crippled Children's Hospital in Mesa, Arizona, I was released with the understanding that I would never walk. Well, due to my mother's stubborness and a bit of my own, I was, eventually, able to walk with the aid of crutches and braces. By the time I was eight years old, I was able to get rid of the hardware and I came out of the chute like a racehorse. For the next fourty-six years I didn't slow down. I went on to do a lot of things during those years. I was a CNC programmer-operator for about twenty years. Now that I've retired I am a.........singer-songwriter-musician-poet- author-minister-performer. Whew! I'm tired just from thinking about all of that. Grin
My first book was published in the spring of 2006. It is a collection of inspirational poetry that I wrote during a long period in which I was in a very deep valley that seemed to have with no way out. Through much prayer and seeking the Lord, He answered my many questions in the form of poetry. Now, He has prompted me through the quickening of my spirit to share what I have learned with others in need.
